I heard this song this summer, and I wanted to put it on here because the message of the song directly relates to why I titled the blog "Follow Me to Africa." Not only do I want to share with you all, and have you "follow me" in a sense, but I know that the Lord is telling me to follow Him there. One of the Heart of the Bride catch phrases that I love is "We will always find Him walking with the poor."

Prayer Requests

Since I made a final a decision a couple of weeks ago, God has given a lot of peace and excitement about going. On the Walker's last Sunday in Niceville I went forward with their family. It was so encouraging to be prayed for and hear the congregation burst into applause when Pastor Olson announced that I had decided to go! I'm so encouraged by so many of you who have already asked about supporting me and are excited about what God is doing! I ask for your prayers and am excited about sharing what God is doing and teaching me in the next few months.

Some prayer requests:

• That I would walk closely with the Father
• Faith in support raising
• My last month teaching at Rocky Bayou Christian. I will be sad to leave the students and teachers!
• Sweet time with my family (we are dispersing in the next few months)

Psalm 27:4

"One thing that I have desired of the Lord, that I will seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple. When You said, 'Seek my face,' My heart said to You, 'Your face I will seek."

I read this yesterday morning and it was just what I needed. I worry about what needs to be done for the day, and what needs to be done in the next few months. I want to finish out the year well, be faithful to the work God has given me here, and prepare to go. I was reminded today that HE is my goal. Knowing, treasuring, and enjoying Him should be the priority for each day. Then my work will not be "wood, hay, and stubble" but lasting. The last two days have been different becuase as I have trusted Him he has given me opportunities with students that I would have missed if I hadn't learned this. Pray that I would really live this out:

"I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in Him He will bear much fruit. Apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5

I have been seriously considering the move to Zambia over two months, and last week I made a decision. With the commitment to go I felt much peace and anticipation about going. God has made it clear in different ways that HE is sending me. I'm priviledged to have so many friends and family that have prayed through this with me.

I'm excited for the next leg of the journey. I will be working through details with Heart of the Bride, raising support, and finishing up school. I don't want to miss any opportunities with the students that I'm working with, but I'm eager to get things together. I would like to leave sometime in September, but that date is very dependant on my own speed in preparing and support raising.
